General Freshman Physics Course Coordinator Search

PHYS 101 General Physics I and PHYS 102 General Physics II courses are offered every semester with a total of approximately 1000 registered students in 20 sections.

The coordinator (holding a PhD degree in Physics) is expected to:

  • Lecture two sections (one PHYS 101  and one PHYS 102)
  • Coordinate these two multi-section courses which involves:
    • Preparing the draft syllabus and organizing a meeting with the lecturers at the beginning of each semester to finalize it;
    • Updating the web pages of the two courses;
    • Keeping track of each section during the semester and being sure that the syllabus is followed;
    • Preparing online homework sites for both courses, and managing homework grades
    • Preparing and managing midterm/final exams;
    • Replying to a large volume of student e-mails and dealing with their problems;
    • Preparing and submitting course portfolios;
    • Preparing and submitting ABET portfolios;
